Vinylmation Animation 3

The much anticipated Animation 3 Vinylmation series has been released today in the US. As for the UK, rumours have suggested that the series would be released here this coming Monday (15th April). Luckily for us it turns out that these rumours were in fact true. After being asked about the UK release on their Facebook page, Disney Store confirmed this, saying “We are delighted to confirm that these will be released on Monday!”. They did not mention whether this means online, in store, or both. Looking at previous releases it’s very likely they will be released online and in selected stores.

This is fantastic news for UK Vinylmation collectors as the number of series released here is still considerably less than in the US. It makes sense for them to sell Animation 3 in the UK, given that Animation 1 and 2 were also sold in the UK. Disney Store UK does not always release every number in a series though so we can never be sure this is going to be the case. Villains 1 and 2 were sold in the UK, but strangely Villains 3 was not.

Animation 3 is likely to be a very popular series, both here and in the US, given the fact that it features some hugely popular Disney characters such as Eeyore, Robin Hood and Stitch. You can see the full lineup below.

The standard 11 figures shown in the image above are: (from left) Top row – Stitch (Lilo & Stitch), Perdita (101 Dalmations), Card Guard (Alice in Wonderland), Grumpy (Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs), Middle row – Ludwig von Drake (first appeared in Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color), Robin Hood (Robin Hood), Pascal (Tangled), Mowgli (The Jungle Book), Bottom row – Basil (The Great Mouse Detective), Eeyore, (Winnie the Pooh) Panchito Pistoles (The Three Caballeros), Chaser (see below).

The chaser for this series is Loch Ness from The Ballad of Nessie short. There are also two variants, Pascal in red and Pascal in yellow.

This series also has a combo topper, Thumper (from Bambi). Unfortunately though, it is very unlikely that this will be available in the UK, as no combo topper has ever had a UK release.

Expect this to be a very popular series; hopefully it won’t sell out too quickly here. Stock is likely to last longer online than in store.
