You may remember that a few months ago, the Disney Store posted a statement online to explain the recent lack of new pins coming from British shores. In fact, they left pin trader hanging without giving them a really idea of what was about to happen. Well, this week the Disney Store released a statement that isn’t going to make collectors happy. The statements reads:

Dear Pin Traders

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our Pin Survey earlier this year. We had some very detailed responses and have been through each one to look at how we can improve the Pin offering at Disney Store. From 15th July we will continue to release Pins online and focus our instore range to 16 selected Stores.

This will ensure we can maintain visual presence of the rage (sic) and direct more stock to the Stores where the majority of out (sic) Pins are sold. The stores are listed below and each of these will continue to Pin Trade with Cast Lanyards.

Aberdeen, Bon Accord
Birmingham, Bull Ring
Bristol, Cribbs Causeway
Cardiff, St. David’s Centre
Gateshead, Metro Centre
Kent, Bluewater
Liverpool, Liverpool One
London, Covent Garden
London, Oxford St
London, Westfield
Manchester, Arndale Centre
Manchester, Trafford Centre
Milton Keynes, Centre MK
Sheffield, Meadowhall
West Thurrock, Lakeside
York, Parliament St

You said that you liked our smaller edtion numbers of Limited Edition Pins and the breadth of characters we used, so we will continue to produce them in this way. For releases in July, August and September we will have a Limited Edition size of 250 and Online Limited Edition of 150. We will be concentrating on limited Edition Pins and, for now, we don’t have any plans to re-introduce the Core range.

You said that inconsistent Cast Member knowledge across out (sic) Stores detracted from your Pin Trading experiences. We are working with the 16 chosen Stores to improve the training of our Cast Members and give them latest information about our range.

You asked about Lanyards and Lanyard sets. We have some initial ideas and have started early development which we will tell you more about in early 2012.

You wanted City Specific Pins, we are currently trialling a London Pin in out brand new Oxford St Store to see if there is enough demand of us to be able to create a full range.

You felt that the standard delivery charge for disneystore.co.uk was high, if you were only buying a Pin. One 1st July we are trialling free UK standard delivery all weekend on the Tinker Bell and Tangled Pins.

We continue to work on improving the range and will update you as new developments occur. We are dedicated to ensuring that our Pin offering at Disney Store will surprise and delight you.

Have a Pintastic Day!
