To say I am excited about my trip to Disneyland the birth place of Disney Magic this yeah doesn’t even begin to describe it and now with the release of this new iPad app the magic is closer then you think. It allows you to take a photo realistic tour around Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure, Downtown Disney District and the 3 resort hotels. Along the way you will enjoy all the sights and sounds of Disneyland as well as interactive games and activities and beautiful videos and graphics. As you progress through the different lands you the music changes to reflect this making you feel like you are right there in the action.
Some of the games and activities include:
Pirates of the Caribbean cannon battle
Disney’s Animation academy where you can learn to draw your favourite Disney pals
Shoot out the beehives on Splash Mountain with you water blaster
Play the organ with the Grim Grinning Ghosts at the Haunted Mansion
Steer your hang glider over California in Soarin
Create your own musical displays in the World of Color
If you get tired from all your Disney Adventuring you can relax at Mickey’s house and watch some historical cartoons featuring our favourite mouse at his very beginnings or take a relaxing ride on the Finding Nemo’s Submarine Voyage.

Having played around with the app while it is very beautiful and has some fun little features in terms of games they are very much for the younger audience and nothing that will hold your attention for very long. While visually stunning and certainly providing the wow factor it lacks in term of information and in some places can feel unfinished. For example the 360s of the hotel rooms is only done for the Disneyland Hotel Rooms and not the others which is a shame as it was a really nice feature and gives you a real sense for the look and feel of the hotel. But definitely worth a look if you have an ipad and best of all it’s FREE!
