Pixar’s latest short titled “The Blue Umberella” has just debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival. The Short is expected to be be released for general public viewing as a pre show to Monsters Univeristy, the Monsters inc. prequel.
The synopsis for the it reads
“It is just another evening commute until the rain starts to fall, and the city comes alive to the sound of dripping rain pipes, whistling awnings and gurgling gutters. And in the midst, two umbrellas—one blue, one not—fall eternally in love,”
The Blue Umbrella is the creation of 36-year-old Saschka Unseld, who has worked in Pixar’s camera and staging department since 2008. Although not totally evident in the short preview, the photorealistic city “comes to life”, which was the inspiration for the animation.
Here is the simplistic, but beautiful poster.
