It seems there are lots of little refurbs going on around Downtown Disney for both restaurants and retail outlets some are fairly minor like a new sign/logo others are a bit more extensive including the Rainforest Cafe. The refurbishment is mainly external so the restaurant will remain open during the building work. The face lift will include a remodeling of the iconic volcano to make it more realistic and will include a lava flow effect and new water features, one of the highlights will be the addition of a new bar called the Lava Lounge which some are saying will be a new outside bar whilst others are saying it will be a re-imagining of the current bar area. I will keep you posted as we find out more information and the construction progresses further! Work is said to be completed Fall 2012.
