With the announcement last week that Al Weiss is to retire effective immediate from the Walt Disney Company, speculation began as to who might just take over the position. Well, all the speculation can end as Disney yesterday announced just what was going to happen at the company, particularly with the Parks and Resorts side. Meg Crofton, who has successfully overseen the Walt Disney World Resort for many years will be promoted to President, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Here job will see her oversee the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Paris Resort. George Kalogridis (Disneyland) and Philippe Gas (Disneyland Paris) will report to her while Crofton is expected to remain President of the Walt Disney World Resort for at least the time being.
Also, as part of the reshuffle, President, Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney Karl Holz will also oversee Disney Vacation Club. He has also been invited to join Tom Staggs’ executive committee.
