With attractions around the world, and specifically museums in the UK banning the use of Selfie Sticks completely, it was only a matter of time that Disney caught up.

Although not policy by Disney, Cast Members in the parks have been told that under no circumstances should guests being using the sticks while riding attractions at the resort. Greeters are specifically given the task of asking guests with their sticks visible as they arrive at the attraction to stow them away for the duration of the attraction. Although there are no specific incidents recorded of them causing issues, it will only be a matter of time before someone does something that puts the safety of themselves or other guests at risk.

  1. About time too, also please ban the use of iPads , tablets as they block the view of others behind them. A health and safety issue that bugs me is putting children up on your shoulders to see the parades , wishes etc, pick your child up by all means to give them a better view but not at the expense of older children behind you.

  2. Good they are shite & can you imagine the grief Disney will get if someone’s iPhone pops out of the holder at the end of the stick & falls into a ride?

  3. They have got to be a danger on rides. Just think if your arm can reach 2 foot in the air, the stick could be say 5 foot and hit a wall or something, get reached out of your hand (ouch for holder) but then go flying through the air and smack into somebody else, big big ouch!
