Day 7 – Barcelona (Should have been Palma)

This is the blog post I was least looking forward to writing as day 7 meant it was the last full day aboard the Disney Magic. If you have been following the blog all week you would have seen that we should be in Palma today but due to transport strikes on the island we headed straight for Barcelona instead.

We had spent the day in the city before the cruise began so didn’t feel the urge to head in again today. Instead, we spent the day inboard ship. We began with our first table service breakfast on the ship at Lumiere’s around 9.15 and then made our way to the Buena Vista theatre to watch Gnomeo and Juliet in 3D. We hadn’t seen it before so it was a nice change to see something new. Even better, on the way in to the movie we happened to come across Donald Duck. Queue impromptu photo!

The film finished by lunchtime which was our queue to head up to Deck 9 and the Quiet Cove pool. We spent a few hours sunbathing, reading and enjoying Chicken strips from Pluto’s Dog House.

At 2pm the Trivia Geek was back and it was time to head down to the Promenade Lounge for our daily dose of Disney trivia. (picking up ice cream from Goofy’s Galley on the way). We had the same team of four as yesterday and were prepared to take back the trivia crown. The quiz started as every other but 5 questions in things changed. The contest was visited by the Queen of Hearts who proceeded to terrorise the quiz host and guests. Maybe taunting her was not the best idea but we certainly became the centre of her attention.

Day 8 – Disembarking the Disney Magic

Well, that is it! The cruise is over and we are now at the airport waiting for our flight home. We ate breakfast at 8.15 this morning back at Animator’s Palate. By 9am we had said goodbye to our servers and left the boat. All that was left was to collect our baggage and head to the coach parking to pick up out transfer to Barcelona airport. We have had an amazing time aboard the ship. Once again, Disney have proved that they can provide the best cruise experience for the family. We are very sad to leave the ship behind but are pleased to have brought away so many memories.

We hope you’ve enjoyed following along with everything we have been up to. Make sure to check back at Disneybrit.com for photos of everything we enjoyed. So, as Mickey would say…….

See ya, real soon
