We have been speculating for some time as to where the ships might be going and Disney have even been teasing us with photos from various locations but, finally, today Disney have revealed where the Magic and Wonder and going to and yes, we were right. They are heading back to Europe!!!

The news was launched via the Disney Park Blog today. Let’s get the US based itineraries out of the way first. Accordin to the parks blog:

“Starting in December of this year, Disney Cruise Line will depart for the first time from Miami! The Disney Wonder will sail four- and five-night cruises from the Port of Miami to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean.

Ports of call may include Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; Key West and Nassau, Bahamas, and many of the Caribbean voyages will include a stop at Disney Cruise Line’s private island, Castaway Cay.

What about Alaska?

The Disney Wonder will return to Alaska in May 2013, departing from Vancouver and sailing to Tracy Arm,SkagwayJuneau and Ketchikan. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse have their warm clothing ready!”

But, as an English DIsney site we were most excited for the return of the Disney Magic to Europe in 2013. The ship will once again call Barcelona its home from home and will offer a variety of 4, 7 and 12  night cruises. The ship will return to many of the destinations it did in 2010 but will also added new Italian destinations as well as Greece and Croatia. Let’s look at each one in more detail.

4 night Itinerary

The four night short cruise will stop at 3 ports, including Barcelona. This is also the only cruise that will stop in Palma De Mallorca, a regular port for 2010. The four night sailing will be available on 9th July and 6th August. A breakdown of the cruise is as follows.

7 night Itinerary

The 7 night Itinerary is a carbon copy of what was more regularly offered in 2012. Some alternative cruises took guests to Cannes instead of Villefrance but it seems this will be the main itinerary for 2013. According to the Disney Cruise website this is classed as the 7 night itinerary ‘A’. We aren’t sure if there is alternative itinerary to come but it isn’t likely to fit in to the schedule very often if it does. If you want to know more about what to expect you can take a look at our cruise blog from this itinerary in 2012. Find a link below to each day of the cruise. Here is breakdown of the specific itinerary:

The 7 night itinerary will leave on 1st and 8th June and 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st August

12 Night Itineraries

This year, Disney will offer 2 12 night itineraries. Both will take in many new ports never visited before and even some overnight stays.

12 Night Itinerary A

The 12 night excursion will take in many of the ports from the 7 night although it will travel further afield and hit Greece, Turkey and Malta. These should add a very different flavour to the itineraries offered on 4 and 7 nights. The itinerary in detail looks like this:

This itinerary will currently run the 15th June and 13th July.

12 Night Itinerary B

Itinerary B focuses a lot of its attention on Italy with an overnight stay in Venice as well as stops in several of its 7 night itinerary ports. This cruise will venture to Dubrovnik in Croatia and to Malta as with the other 12 night cruise. The breakdown for this cruise is as follows:

This cruise give you 3 full days at sea with another half day on the way to Venice and Dubrovnik. There will certainly be plenty of time to relax and take part in the onboard activities as well as some well deserved adult time while the kids enjoy the clubs. The cruise will depart twice on 27th June and 25th July

THis looks like it will be the full itinerary for its European sailings. There is the opportunity to fit in a 4-5 night sailing from the 5th – 10th August but it is unlikely this will happen. We all know DIsney though and this could well change.

What you really want to know is how much is this going to set you back. The answer is, we don’t know! Disney are expected to release the prices and booking options on Thursday, 26th January from 8.00am EST

What do you think? Is this going to finally make you take the Disney cruise plunge? We’d love to hear your thoughts on the itineraries for 2013.
