Right next to Muppets Star Wars was a sign displaying the 5th series of the Disney Star Wars line of figures. This is where they take classic Disney characters and and put them into the Star Wars universe. Before Vinylmation, these were my favorite Disney collectibles. So far, Disney has put out four series of Disney Characters as Star Wars Characters. So far we have seen Stitch as Yoda and the Emperor. Mickey as Jedi Luke and Fighter Pilot Luke. Pete as Boba Fett and many more. This fall, we will get Series 5. At Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we got a glimpse of pictures of the five figure set.
Looks like this one has a decidedly Clone Wars feel to it. Like all the previous sets, Series 5 figures will be sold individually at an $8.95 price point. Here is the Series 5 lineup.
Amazing! See the little blue figure… It looks like the general comes with a little emperor hologram! Nice touch Disney. And Stitch, with his extra arms and mischievousness nature, makes a great Grievous.
A solid figure here. Nothing spectacular, but the face has great expression to it. I will say we don’t see any weapon accessories on any of the figures in the pictures. I’ll be surprised if we don’t see a few lightsabers and guns in the final packaging.
A cool choice for a figure here. I like the Clone Wars universe and it’s nice to see them take advantage of the characters in it. Good detail in the clothing.
I’m not a big Daisy fan in general, but it’s nice to see her debut into this line of product. I like the inclusion of Aurra, but she doesn’t look like she came out too well in production.
Cool idea, but doesn’t translate into figures with much character. I had the same problem with Chip and Dale as Ewoks in Series 4. I do like the different facial expressions.
