It’s official! Disneyland Paris are planing on bringing some all new experiences to the resort for its 20th anniversary and they announced them to today. Take a look at just what they have in store for us from April 2012
Disney Magic On Parade
Disney Magic on Parade casts Disney Characters in a fantastic new carnival especially for our 20th Anniversary. Flying out from their unforgettable stories trailing light, colour, music and magic, they glide through the Park’s party atmosphere, before Mickey and friends shine in a spectacular finale.
From what we understand this will be a partly new full parade. Several floats from the current Once Upon a Dream Parade will be used but several floats will be removed or re-tooled. We expect to see he Dream of Imagination float from the beginning of the parade and the second Dream of Romance float to change as well as a different musical score, costumes and lighting. More details will no doubt follow at a later date.
Disney Dreams
Sleeping Beauty Castle will see spectacular flights of fancy wrapped around it as Peter Pan’s shadow escapes to bring you the rainbow reality of “Dreams” – our unmissable new nighttime spectacular show. This world premiere follows his adventure as he weaves his way between timeless Disney Stories, dashing through incredible lasers, fantastic fountains and peaking in an extraordinary finale.
It seems the test earlier on in the year really were what we thought, a brand new, unique and larger than ever show for the 20th year. Expect to see the castle projections on Walt Disney World’s Magic Memories and You mixed with Disneyland’s World of Color. On top of that, add some good old DIsney fireworks and we probably aren’t far off from the completed picture.
Main Street USA Celebrates!
Excitement is in the air, as one of the most famous streets in the world celebrates our 20th Anniversary, and welcomes you to this unique celebration of magic, lights and colors with even more twinkles and memorable glowings-on than ever before.
Possibly the most ambiguous description ever given to a Disney celebration but expect it to be spectacular. Could we see some sort of street party or mini parade? Your guess is as good as mine but we hope to find out some more information soon.
Meet Mickey Mouse
Everybody’s favourite Mouse is taking time out and welcomes you to meet him backstage in the rehearsal room of his theatre in Fantasyland. On your way to the stage door, enjoy a tour of the ornate music hall and laugh along with some classic short films featuring Mickey and his friends. Once backstage, you’ll be invited to join Mickey for a special audience with the star himself who will share some of his favourite props and costumes and pose for a special photo souvenir with you and your family.
Extended Park Hours
If that isn’t enough, Disneyland Paris will also extend there park hours for the anniversary. According to Disney these will run from April – September 2012 but they have only released their Summer dates so far. Expect this extension to go all year.
World of Disney Store
The large construction project to the right of Disney Village has been going on for some time. We now have official world that the new store will open to the public in July 2012. A long way off yet but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.
If you want to know more about what to expect next year then head over to the Disneyland Paris Brochure website and take a look at the newly released Winter/Summer 2012 edition.
What do you think to the new additions to the 20th anniversary line up? Is it going to make you want to go back soon?
