When was the last time something Disney did caused such a global stir that the company began to restrict the amount of money guests could spend? No, we can’t remember either but the Disney Parks and Resorts and the Disney Store have actually had to put limitations on the number of Frozen themed items guests can buy. At present, guests are only allowed to pick up 5 Frozen theme items from stores at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line ships and Disney Vacation Club locations.
The Disney Store has also instituted a similar policy. In both their stores and online, guests may purchase two items each of select merchandise products. Elsa costumes are limited to one per customer. All Frozen merchandise will be put on shelves (or available for sale online) as soon as it arrives, except for certain items such as dolls and plush. Those items will only be available for sale at store opening on Saturdays. Elsa costumes are in higher demand, so on Saturdays, there will be an prize drawing to purchase one costume per guest. Only stores with enough inventory will be participating. The Disney Store is hoping that their Frozen merchandise will all be back in stock by July or August and hope that the limitations imposed can then be removed. Stock has been so short people have been prepared to pay around $1200 for one dress on Ebay
