When Disney purchased Marvel they bought one hell on a complicated franchise. The comics were pretty straight forward but when you look further afield to theme park and movie rights it’s one big mess. Already Universal have US park rights and a new theme park in Dubai will also include a new area theme to the superheroes but it was the deals done through Movie rights that cause the biggest headache. Before Disney’s acquisition of the comic book giant, Marvel sold movie rights to every studio under the sun. This meant that although Disney would gain profits from any future film releases other studios would have overall control. It’s a unique and unusual situation but can you name which studios own which rights? Not sure, then take a look at this info graphic below that will clear it all up.
