It’s common knowledge that Pixar hide secrets in their films. And I nievely assumed that that is where it ended. Until recently when I started to go through my DVD collection carefully. Lilo and Stitch is not only one of my favourite films, but is packed with subtle little “secrets”. Hidden Mickeys and Hidden Characters.OK this isn’t hidden but cool non the less.
Jumba has a lime green Hidden Mickey on his platform – however on the aerial shots it isn’t there.
There is a Hidden Mickey formed in the alien alphabet on the left of the grand council platform.
Apparently many alien were inspired by other Disney characters. Is this Piglet?
Is this an Alien Tigger?
Can you spot the Mickey on the Green Bottle on the shelf?
The guy on the top left photo has a Mickey on his shorts.
Lilo has a Dumbo Doll in her easel.
The Adoption Magistrate is Susan Hegarty. This also the actress who provides her voice.
The wording of the contract is hard to make out, but the last line reads “at Disney-MGM Studios for their participation and support XXXXX the making of Lilo & Stitch”
The Yellow shop is named after Mulan.
Cinderella’s Castle from the Magic Kingdom, Orlando is featured on the postcard carousel.
David performs his Fire dance in a show very similar to the Spirit of Aloha (Disney’s Polynesian Resort), however is could be just a Hawaiian traditional dinner show 😉
Is this the equivalent of Luxo Jr’s ball from Pixar films?
The infamous CalArts reference is on the numberplate on the right – A113
I’m not one of those people that believes that every set of 3 circles is a Hidden Mickey, but check out the grapefruit display just above Stitch.
Hidden Mickey alert – The table leg on the right. There is also one made of oil on the table top by Lilo’s foot. One final Hidden Mickey on the Boot Heel in the Vice.
The Number plate LS 2153 I believe is a reference to Lora M. Spran (assistant visual effects animator) it appears for a about 2 frames.
Nani has a poster on her wall from Mulan
The Fire Truck has the license A113
More A113
Gantu’s space craft has a Hidden Mickey image on the left dial.
More A113
I’m not sure if we mentioned the whole A113 thing.
Finally Nani’s replacement VW Beetle has a license plate of…. you guessed it A113.
Hopefully this is just the tip of the iceberg for finding hidden details in Disney films and I’ll try and share all my findings. However I have learned that all vehicles on the island are all registered the same!
Excellent work my friend 🙂
