I’ve been waiting so long for these! The Disney Parks Blog has announced a March release for the Disney Character Star Wars Series 5 set.
Series 5 will feature Huey, Dewy and Louie as Jawas and then, for the first time, a few Clone Wars figures made the cut. Donald Duck as Commander Cody, Daisy as Aurra Sing, Goofy and Cad Bane and Stitch as General Grievous.
I have collected all four of the previous series and have been anticipating this set for a long while. Previous series included Mickey as Luke (white robes, Jedi and X-Wing Pilot versions), Minnie as Leia, Stitch as The Emperor, Donald as Han Solo (with carbonite version) and Pete as Boba Fett. The first four series seemed to come out once per year, and we saw a peak at series 5 in early 2011. But as Steven Miller explained, Disney decided to hold these back a year and let the excitement of updated Star Tours attraction stand on its own. The March 2012 release coincides with Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The figures will be available at various retail locations around WDW and DLR upon release.
