Back in 2002, Disneyland Paris management took the decision to reduce the hours in which the park was open. For many years now, it has been extremely rare, even during peak season, to see the park open past 6 or 7pm. With the major updates coming to Disneyland’s California Adventure, Walt Disney Studio’s sticks out like a sore thumb when it comes to themingand full day experiences. But, with a slate of new E-ticket  attractions added to the park since 2002 (Tower of Terror, Crush’s Coaster, Toy Story Playland) and the possible rumour of a Ratatouille attraction, management seem to think the park is ready to once again stay open later. That is why, on two select weekends in March 2011, Walt Disney Studios will once again remain open until 9pm.

The reason? It seems to be a test to see if the park now needs longer hours. The addition of Toy Story Playland has certainly added longer wait times from attractions. RC Racer is often found to be an hour even on the quietest of days (thank goodness for single rider!)

According to the Disneyland Paris website, the park will remain open until 9pm on March 5th-6th and 12th – 13th. The dates are well after the UK’shalf term holidays and before Easter so there is no correlation to it being a peak time for the park. It will be interesting to see of the test is extended as some of the great attraction in the park would be good, if not better, in the dark!
