On December 11th 2014 French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, alongside Tom Wolber, President of Euro Disney S.A.S., visited Marne-la-Vallée to attend a ceremony where he helped lay the first stone at the site of the upcoming Villages Nature. The complex, which is a 500 million euros joint venture between Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs Group, Euro Disney S.C.A. and the French government; aims to be the European destination for those who wish to experience the best of nature.
Villages Nature will be built within a mostly wooded area next to Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch, covering an area of 260 hectares. Its focal point will be a large glass pyramid designed by Jacques Ferrier, which will be situated next to a large aqualagoon.
Apartments and Cottages will also be built there which will be available as rental properties, enabling some very lucky people to own a space near to Disneyland Paris! In order to ensure that the properties meet the strictest environmental and landscape standards, their design has been influenced by François des Gâtines. There will be three types of property available, Bulle, for couples, Nature, designed for friends to discover the outdoors, and Clan, suitable for families with children.
There will be many things to see and do there such as the Enchanted Forest, the Extraordinary Gardens, a model Farm, and many facilities for rest and relaxation, all surrounded by lush forests awaiting to be discovered.
The concept art for Villages Nature is stunning and the project looks like it is taking its environmental responsibilities seriously with the inclusion of renewable energy products such as solar panels, wind turbines and a 78 degree Celsius Aquifer that may be able to export heat for Disney Village to use!
Starting its opening from 2016 the complex will enhance the area near to Disneyland Paris and will hopefully encourage more visitors, whilst creating more jobs.
