It seems Disney are changing the rules a little but aren’t exactly shouting about it. here has been some recent changes to their Extra Magic Hour pages on the Walt Disney World website with one in particular
Each day, one of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks opens one hour early or remains open up to 2 hours after regular closing time
It seems that from early 2013, Walt Disney World will be cutting down the number of extra hours guests can enjoy in its parks. For nearly 10 years, guests have been able to enjoy up to 3 extra hours after parking closing. On some evenings, that meant the park was only closed to the public for 2-3 hours. Whether this will be a test or a permanent change we are unsure but it will be interesting to see guests reactions to it all. Also, there is one other change to those who are eligible for extra magic hours.
A valid theme park ticket and Resort ID or Golden Oak ID are required. Each member of your party will need to present a Resort ID or Golden Oak ID to access evening Extra Magic Hours offerings.
See, there are some perks to paying millions of dollars for a house!
The id idea is good it will stop larger families where some are staying offsite to abuse their hotel cards, but not so sure about the extra hours being reduced. We love staying later at night as it means we can take our time in the morning, as i am disabled it worked well for us and the park isnt as busy . See you again in september x
