We had rumoured about it for some time, the teaser video pointed to it and earlier this week Disney began to use #Disney24 after its posts about the special announcement on the Dick Clark New Year’s Eve ABC television special.

For weeks, The Disney community has speculated on this rare, first time ever event and last night the Disney company announced that all of its Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will stay open for 24 hours beginning 6am, 29th February until 6am 1st March. The park will then close for only a few hours before opening again for a normal operating day. Does this mean that guests could visit resorts on both coasts in the same day? I challenge some to try!

As if that was enough, Disney also announced a sweepstake competition where they will give guests the chance to win an all expenses Paid trip to either resort. Between now and February 29th, Disney will give away 60 vacation packages Totalling over $378,000.

Each winning trip will include:
A 5 day / 4 night trip for winner and 3 guests to Walt Disney World OR Disneyland
hotel accommodations for 4 nights
5-day Park Hopper tickets
a Disney Gift Card with a value of $1,000
1 Disney’s PhotoPass Book
1 Disney’s PhotoPass CD
Disney Tours with a value up to $500
Downtown Disney shopping spree with a value of up to $500
Relaxing Spa experiences with a value up to $500
Round-trip coach air transportation or round-trip ground transportation

To enter the competition head over to http://disney.go.com/memories/ The bad news? It’s only open to those resident in the US or Canada. Thanks Disney!!!!

Will you be heading out to the parks? Maybe you are going to try and make the full 24 hours? Why not let us know if you are and head over to sponsors www.touringplans.com and start planning all 4 parks in one day.

  1. It amazes me that UK residents were included in the YOAMD sweepstakes (I sent dozens of postcards having a family of 7 at the time but we didnt win anything 🙁 sadly) and yet we are never included in any of the other sweepstakes but Canada is?!! Of course Im talking with pure jealousy!!
